Hey,
I'm really sick right now. I didn't go to school yesterday or today. I am still going to my orthodontist appointment today and I am probably still going to the Band Banquet tonight. I hate missing school because then I have a lot of make-up work to do.
I'm gonna go now,
bye!

Ozarko!
So this weekend I went to a competition for marching band/color guard. It is in Springfield and is called Ozarko. Hickman High School got 3rd place overall. We got best percussion award and the best soloist award! We were supposed to practice this morning, but since we did well they decided to give us the day off. I'm so glad because I am really tired even though I got to sleep in for 40 minutes! Tomorrow I have to go in early for practice.......=(
I am ssssssssssssssoooooooooooo excited for this coming weekend! On Saturday, I have another competition. Then on Sunday I am proably going to Steelville to visit family! I haven't seen them since June. I will get to hang with my bestest friends ever, my uncle Jacob and my aunt Hannah.
I better go now, I'm kind of at school right now...

High School
Hi guys! I haven't written in a while...
I am at school right now. As you probably guessed, it's boring. I am in 3rd hour which is Apparel Merchandising. Yoon Choi is sitting by me and it's awesome!!! She's amazing. My BFF. LOL. She told me to write most of that. We are supposed to be working on our powerpoints but we are already done. I am so happy that today is Friday. Today I am leaving with my youth group to go to Mark Twain Lake for a retreat. It is going to be totally tubular because we are going tubing! I'm so excited.....

camping
My family and I went camping in Olathe, Kansas. It was fun. We went there because my sisters had a track meet. At the camp grounds these people stayed up until 3:30am yelling and screaming. The campground rule was to stop making noise by 11:00pm. I didn't really hear them, b/c I went right to sleep. We went swimming in a lake, at first I didn't want to b/c fish are gross, but it was the strangest thing...we didn't see any fish at all. My sisters were purposely trying to dunk me and push me off the green tube. I ended up falling off accidentally w/out them even pushing me. It was funny b/c I flipped backwards in the water. The track meet was long, but my sister, Kristina, got first in the 1500 meter race-walk. Near the end of the track meet I went to the concession stand to buy a pickle for $1.25, but they said I only had to pay a dollar and I could have two!

SUMMERTIME!
Summertime is great! I love sleeping in, but I also hate it. Weird, right? My BFFFLs (Hannah K and Rachael K) gave me Taylor Swift's cd called Fearless. I'm listening to it right now, it's amazing. One of the best things happening this summer is that I am going to get my permit! I'M SOOO EXCITED!!! My mom said that we will go get "the book" so I can study it. This weekend I am going to Crossover Christian Music Festival, and guess who is going to be there!!! TBR! This Summer I really want to read a ton and watch the list of movies I made. If you want you could give suggestions to read, watch, bands to listen to. Here is a song that reminded me of summer awesomeness!
"What time is it?
Summertime
It's our vacation
What time is it?
Party time
That's right
Say it loud
What time is it?
Time of our lives
Anticipation
What time is it?
Summertime
School's out
Scream and shout!"

60s party...
My Church Youth Group had a 60s party for the 5th graders who are graduating. Well, I thought it was going to be amazingly wonderful, but I never learn to stop getting my hopes up. The party would have been okay if the games were relevant to the 60s, if it was just a party (not regular youth meeting and a party), and if we could have listened to more 60s music (making a whole playlist of 60s music was my only job and a waste of time)...at least I can listen to it!
Anyways...I have 0.5 school days left. I took all of my finals except the physics final.

23rd post...finally!
I have finally got the chance to write a blog. Sorry, it's been a while. Have I got some great news for you!
You know how I wrote about the Writing Assessment we had to take? And how I was writing about the Civil War? Well, I got a 4/4 on that Writing Assessment!!! My first 4/4 ever! I was really happy b/c I worked really hard on it.
5 1/2 days of school left! Four days this week, 1 1/2 days next week. Then SUMMER!
Tomorrow I am going to perform in the Memorial Day parade. This is my last performance for OJHS.
I busted my lip on Thursday b/c I was practicing my rifle in Color Guard. I was the "first blood of the season". Apparently it's an honor.
I have to go now and SLEEP.

The Beatles
If you didn't know, I love The Beatles! I just wanted to use this blog to talk about them. Well, first of all, their names were Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. Paul McCartney played bass guitar and sang, John Lennon play rhythm guitar and sang, George Harrison played lead guitar and sang, Ringo Starr played drums and, of course, sang. They officially became a group in 1960, but they didn't have a drummer. This was a problem, they tried many different drummers and none were quite right until they met Ringo. They all had a similar hair style. They first became famous in the U.K. They traveled to America where around 3,000 screaming fans were there to greet them. From 1960-1970 it was called Beatlemania. They recorded many albums, and filmed a few movies. After the band broke up in 1970, all four members embarked upon successful solo careers.
Just last night I watched The Beatles' first movie (I can't write the actual name because then my sister will know). My favorite Beatle is George Harrison. He didn't get enough credit. By the time he was 16, Lennon and the others had accepted him as one of the band; because Harrison was the youngest member of the group, he was looked upon as a kid by the others for another few years. He was often known as "the quiet one".
Next, I am going to watch Help! starring the Beatles.

RIFLE! RIFLE! RIFLE!
It has definitely been a while since I last blogged. On Thursday I had HHS Color Guard practice. We learned a few tosses and moves with RIFLES!!! At first, I was terrible, but I got better at it as time passed. Everyone did. Rifles are just sooo cool. The ones we toss are white. By our next practice we have to know how to do 8 spins in a row! And one single toss (I already can do that). I practiced at the park for a while the other day, and some lady with kids asked if I would perform for them, so I just showed them a few things with my FLAG b/c that's what I'm good at. She then asked if I would do something with the rifle so I showed them. Good thing they don't what is the right way to catch a rifle, because I totally messed up and they didn't even know!

VIVE LA FRANCE!!!
WOO HOO!!! Today was Cinco de Mayo, and our school has a competition between the Foreign Language classes. There is a Trivia Challenge that asks a bunch of questions about the Spanish culture, the French culture, and the German culture. There is a Physical Challenge where you had to put on this apron and weave back and forth between benches while holding a tray with a glass of water and a water bottle on it. It was a relay so four people from each language had to participate each time. Then, after school, there was a Scavenger Hunt. My French class did awesome; we had 98% on the Trivia when the Spanish class we were against had 58% and we won in our Physical Challenge. That was only my class though. After school we had to choose teams that are the same language as you and we got questions in our language (which was French) to answer. My team got second, but the team that won first were French. Time for the overall score:
4th place - Galve's Spanish (Red Team)
3rd place - Lambson's Spanish (Green Team)
2nd place - German (Yellow Team)
1st place - FRENCH!!! (BLUE TEAM)
We were uber excited since we won TWO YEARS IN A ROW!!!
It was so much fun.

I Can't Wait for Summertime!
I am sure that most of you love the Summer as much as I do! School is okay (I guess), but nothing can compare to the warm sunshine. Everything is so bright, and colorful. I enjoy the lazy summer days. This summer will be a little different for me though, since I will be involved in Color Guard. It's not too bad. I hope I can read lots and lots and lots of books this summer. Only 19.5 days of school left!!! I have a project I should be working on right now so I better go.

Watchdog phone call
Today I got a phone call from "Watchdog" saying that there a was a purchase of something online that was suspicious. They said that the phone number was my number and that someone had entered a credit card number that had an expiration date of _______ (I don't remember). It was just crazy because I was pretty sure that I didn't purchase anything. I DON'T EVEN HAVE A CREDIT CARD!!! My mom told me that the person who purchased the item probably was a scammer or the person who called me was a scammer to get the real credit card number.

Backwards Bus...
So, I ride the bus to and from school everyday. Today we had a sub-bus driver and a sub-bus. The sub-bus was really cool, better than our normal bus, the sub-bus was brand spankin' new. Sorry, I kind of got off topic. Anyways, our sub-bus driver decided to take the route backwards. Usually the sub-bus drivers make someone give them directions, but that didn't happen this time, so, everyone was yelling out directions and we were getting confused because it was a backwards route. The result of the Backwards Bus Route was that I got home at 3:40pm instead of 3:30pm. Not too bad I guess.

Writing Assessment
In public schools we have to take these things called Writing Assessments. Well, my point is that I usually hate them because I usually always get a 2.5/4. I decided this time I was actually excited about it because I am writing about a subject that is dear to me. The Civil War. The reason why I think so much about the Civil War is because all the young soldiers who fought because of what they believed in. It's very noble of them, and many of them died. There were 25 boys that were the age of 10 or younger. 300 hundred boys were the age of 13 or younger. Just imagine, these boys weren't even my age, but yet they saw a lot more deaths in just 4 years than I will see in a lifetime.
TOO MUCH HOME WORK!!!
My title pretty much explains what I was going to say. 80 problems in math, genres to write for my multi-genre project, health test review. I better get to work!

Job Shadowing.
The 9th graders at my school have to do this thing called Project SEARCH. It is where we get to job shadow some where that we want to learn more about that job. I will be job shadowing at my aunts clothing store, yes, my aunt owns a clothing store, in Rolla. I am excited because one, I get to work with my aunt, two, I love clothes (so working around clothes is awesome), three, I get to travel to do my job shadowing! I don't really want to work with clothes when I am older, but it is still going to be extremely fun! When I am older, I think being a pediatrician or an interior designer. I would like to be a pediatrician because I love taking care of people, especially children. It would be cool to be an interior designer because I love to make things look perfect in rooms, I like matching the colors and just creating the arrangement of all the furniture, etc.
I have attached a link to this blog post, if you click the title that says "Job Shadowing." Please click it.

Everything under the sun...
This weekend I painted my nails pink!!! They rock, I feel so Springy-ish! Today I was sooooo tired at school. I couldn't wait to come home. I am pretty much done with homework...yay! I just have to finish this one late assignment, and this other assignment that I apparently didn't do right. After I finish those, I will study for the economics test that is on Friday (not so yay), write on of the three genres (I am in the process of a multi-genre project) that are due Friday, then finally I will practice guitar. Except for practicing guitar, I will listen to music like throughout all of those things. I am listening to Hawk Nelson right now...it's AWESOME!!! Four more days!!!! Until the weekend! You should check out this cool band called Family Force 5, just click the title of this blog post.

More about music...
As I have said before, I LOVE music! I am so glad God thought of wonderful sounds such as music in your ear. Especially since there are so many kinds of music out there. It seems like music helps build personalities. It helped build mine. I love lots of different kinds of music. I named a few in my profile above. I listen to the different types at different times depending on my mood. Here are some suggestions by genre:
Christian Rock: This Beautiful Republic, Skillet, RED, Fireflight, Flyleaf
Christian Pop/Rock: Hawk Nelson, Relient K, Superchic[k], BarlowGirl
Christian Pop: pureNRG, The Rubyz, Mission6, Francesca Battistelli, CADIA
Christian Hip Hop: Group 1 Crew, Toby Mac
Bluegrass: The Lonesome Hill Gang (my friends!!!)
Country: Taylor Swift
Oldies: The Beatles
Pop/Rock: Demi Lovato, Hey Monday
Please comment on this blog and name a few bands or genre of music that you like.

Poem b4 I have to "edit" it for school
This is a poem that I wrote about color guard and b4 I have to relate it to economics I wanted to show you the work I am actually proud of...when it's done I won't be as proud.
Beauty From Pain
By: Julia Perona
The pressure is on,
My hands on the
Flagpole are Sliding due to
The sticky sweat.
The other color guards
Look at my guard
With disgust.
I look around,
The many different
Colored flags
Make me dizzy.
We worked really, really
Hard to make it
To the top,
And we won’t
Back down now.
We’re here to win,
That’s the reason
For our long suffering
Hours, to see
Beauty from pain.
Practicing is not
The only thing that
Makes perfect.
There are other details
To work out.
What will the uniforms be,
Which flags should we use,
What song will we perform to?
The most important
Detail is:
How much effort
Is exerted throughout
The whole performance?
We will win, when we all
Choose effort of
One hundred-ten percent.
Now we make our way
To the field to
Show off our
Beauty from pain
To the world.
And when we do
We will see Victory.

Overwhelming day.
I had a pretty good day...until when I was waiting for my mom to pick me up from school. I waited for a whole 30 min and I couldn't call her because my phone was dead. I had to be at Color Guard practice at 3:30pm sharp. I started to think that my mom forgot me and that I was going to get kicked out of Color Guard for missing last time and today. So when I finally saw my mom pull in the school parking lot I was furious. That furiousness pretty much ruined the rest of my time with my family today. Especially since I had to mow the lawn too. I have homework, you know! I guess I feel better now, but still I would've liked a better day.

Poetic moment...
In my Honors English and Social Studies class we had to write different forms of poetry. One of the forms was imitation which I actually liked because it's simply copying a different poet's general idea of a poem, but in your own words. Here is some of my work:
This Is Just to Say
I am sorry for disrupting
class by coughing
for nearly
a whole minute, but
you see, I couldn't help it
because I had a
terrible tickle in
my throat.

Spring Pictures.
Today, at my school, I found out it was Spring Picture day. It was crazy b/c it wasn't even in the announcements. Good thing I decided to do something with my hair today. The truth is, you don't have to take Spring Pictures if you don't want to, but I was just like, I guess if they're good then it will be worth me going through the torture of fake smiling. :-)
My school picture from the Fall (the one that is going in the yearbook) is terrible so if the spring picture is good it will make up for it.
One more thing about pictures, the guy who told you how to pose was really annoying me b/c he was so paranoid about everything. He told me to cross my legs so I did and then he said not to cross them, but to bend my knees and then cross my legs. Then he said to fold my legs downward, so I did and then he told me I was not doing it right and then said, "you need to fold them sideways not flatten them!"
That was pretty much the moment of the day.
I'm gonna go bake cookies, yum.............

Math mistakes....gotta love 'em
My math teacher made us correct only one problem that we got wrong on the quiz that we had on Friday. I only got one problem wrong so that was perfect. I looked to see what I did wrong and...
2m^2+9m+7=3..........cannot be changed into..........9m^2+9m+4=0.........because there is NO WAY you can get 2m^2 changed to 9m^2................simple mistake that cost me 2 points.
I did everything else correct though to solve the problem (with the help of the handy dandy Quadratic Formula).
I felt really stupid when I saw what I did.
Crazy me...

sick yet school anyways
I'm sick today, but I have to go to school. It will just spread germs! It will make me even more run down so when there is a day that I actually wanna go to school (Wednesday and Thursday) I will probably have to stay home! It will disrupt class, b/c I am coughing a lot! I will probably just end up calling home anyways! I better go now.............to school...

Review of Mint Medley Tea without sugar.
Well, if you have never tried tea without sugar/honey I advise you to never try it.
It tasted like hot water with plants in it. Yeah, I was too lazy to go upstairs to put sugar in my tea so I had to drink it plain. I'm proud of myself though :-)
